McAlpine et al.<\/p>\n<p>ABSTRACT (300\/300)<br \/>\nBackground: Neuropsychiatric symptoms are prominent and can have a substantial functional impact in many<br \/>\npeople with Long COVID (LC). The underlying pathophysiology of neuropsychiatric LC (N-LC) is unknown.<br \/>\nMethods: 28 individuals with acute COVID-19 (AC), 50 N-LC (new or worsening neuropsychiatric symptoms &gt;3<br \/>\nmonths after COVID-19), and 29 post-COVID-19 controls with no LC (&gt;3 months prior) were enrolled.<br \/>\nParticipants underwent cross-sectional blood testing, and the N-LC and control groups underwent<br \/>\nneuropsychiatric testing, including verbal learning and memory, fluency, processing speed, and mental health<br \/>\nassessments. Fourteen soluble biomarkers of vascular health were measured in plasma.
