I was asked to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/video\/some-health-experts-warn-against-microdosing-weight-loss-drugs\/\" rel=\"\">discuss the topic<\/a> on <em>CBS News<\/em> last night, which gave me a chance to look into this topic more deeply. I\u2019d like to share my read on this with you.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"header-anchor-post\">The short answer.<\/h4>\n<div class=\"pencraft pc-display-flex pc-alignItems-center pc-position-absolute pc-reset header-anchor-parent\">\n<div class=\"pencraft pc-display-contents pc-reset _pubTheme_c2zmd_1\">\n<div id=\"\u00a7the-short-answer\" class=\"pencraft pc-reset header-anchor offset-top\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>There\u2019s no evidence that microdosing\u2014taking very small doses of a GLP-1 in hopes of harnessing the benefits without the side effects\u2014will work for most people. There\u2019s a chance that lower-than-standard doses might help a subset of patients, but if true, it\u2019s likely that the doses would be among the lower doses already tested by the drug companies; that is, lower doses but not truly \u201cmicro\u201d doses. Keep in mind, low doses (4-5% of the eventual highest doses now used) <em>failed to show benefits<\/em> in early trials. However, it\u2019s worth saying that low (but not \u201cmicro\u201d) doses <em>could<\/em> help a select few people who have unusually strong responses to these drugs.
